Scotty Arnold

Scotty Arnold is a musical theater writer from Palo Alto, CA. He wrote the music for When You’re Gone (AKA Mortality Play) which just performed at NAMT after having developed at Joe’s Pub, Yale Institute for Music Thater, and Ars Nova. His play Oscar & Richard & Joe, a contemporary riff on R&H’s Allegro, recently received a sold-out performance at Ravinia in Chicago. He is a founding member of the Musical Theatre Factory, where That Time We Found a Sasquatch in the Woods, for which he wrote the music, has been developing through readings and workshops. He composed the music for Trivøya Gold, which has also been developed at MTF and will have a reading this winter. After receiving its premiere at the Music Theater Company in Illinois in 2013, his short musical Tereshkova was recently brought back for an encore performance. He is currently a writer-in-residence at CAP 21, where he is developing a new musical with Jennifer Stafford and Shelley Butler. He holds a BA from Santa Clara University, a MFA from NYU, and has also studied at ANMT (CA) and New Dramatists (NY). He is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild and ASCAP.
