Melissa Crespo

Melissa Crespo is a New York-based director. Recent work: TARBABY (59E59/Edinburgh Fringe Festival–Scotsman Fringe First Award) written and performed by Desiree Burch with Dan Kitrosser, VENUS (LIU Post), VOODOO (Morningside Opera & Harlem Opera Theater). World Premieres as director: THE MAP OF LOST THINGS (Hangar Theatre), ¡FIGARO! (90210) (LA Opera) following the New York Times concert presentation hailed as “blasphemous, brilliant…realistically contemporary and timelessly comic.”

New work development: The Lark Play Development Center, Echo Theatre Company, Ars Nova, Morningside Opera, The Civilians, The Public and many others. Recipient of the Allen Lee Hughes Directing Fellowship at Arena Stage, Van Lier Directing Fellowship at Second Stage Theatre and 2014 Drama League Fellowship. Melissa was also a Director for the 2015 ABC Talent Showcase.

She received her MFA in Directing from The New School for Drama.
