Lisa Datz

Lisa Datz is a bicoastal, critically acclaimed, actor, director, writer and voice over artist.

With a diverse career spanning film, television, and theatre, Lisa made her Broadway debut at a young age in the Tony winning original cast of TitanicThe Full Monty opposite Patrick Wilson, Off-Broadway as Yitzak opposite John Cameron Mitchell, and later Michael Cerveris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and received rave reviews and a Jeff Award nomination for Violet in the title role.

She starred in the Pulitzer Prize nominated play, Three Days of Rain, opposite Silas Weir Mitchell and Sasha Roiz from Grimm (NBC), and played leading roles in the critically acclaimed For the Record series in both Los Angeles and at the SXSW Film Festival in FTR: Tarantino and FTR: Paul Thomas Anderson, among many regional theatre credits.

Her television and film work highlights include FBI: Most Wanted opposite Dylan McDermott (CBS), Elementary (CBS) opposite Lucy Liu, Bones opposite John Boyd (FOX), Castle opposite Nathan Fillion (ABC), Time Out of Mind directed by Oscar nominated director Oren Moverman, starring Richard Gere, the live action feature Sponge Bob 2 (Paramount), The Perfect Holiday opposite Gabrielle Union, and creating the role of ‘Olga’ in the developmental reading of Wanda & Sheneneh written by Oscar winner Jamie Foxx at Sony Pictures.

She can be seen in Motion Capture and voice as one of the female leads, “Jessica LeClerk”, in the massively successful online video game, Red Dead Redemption 2, and is featured in the most recent Gotham Knights from Warner Brothers Games

Over the pandemic, Lisa used this time to hone her directing & writing skills on her short film/proof of concept pilot Life of Riley, written & directed by Lisa, and produced by her production company, Datz a Wrap, in association with Intent Entertainment and Emmy winning producer, Erin Glass (NBC’s Give)

Life of Riley stars Sergio Carlo (Andy Garcia’s The Lost City), Silas Weir Mitchell (Grimm, Prison Break), Akende Munalula (Deputy on FOX, Tyler Perry’s Boo2: A Madea Halloween), Dionne GIpson (NCIS, Black Dynamite), and Lisa Datz (FBI: Most Wanted, Elementary).

A former competitive figure skater and current equestrian, when Lisa’s not acting & directing, you’ll find her horseback riding, skating, hip hop dancing, by the ocean or hiking, practicing Spanish, and traveling the globe, surrounded by her close family and friends.

Lisa Datz is best known to NY audiences for her work on Broadway and Off in the original companies of TITANIC and THE FULL MONTY; HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, IN THE WINGS at the Promenade, WEIRD ROMANCE at the York Theatre Company, and Sondheim’s SATURDAY NIGHT at Second Stage. Lisa has been seen on screen in the feature films, The Perfect Holiday (produced by Queen Latifah), Ghost Town (dir. David Koepp), and Spectropia which appeared at the Lincoln Center Film Festival, as well as the featured role of sexy Russian spy “Olga” in a reading of the upcoming feature film, Wanda and Sheneneh, written by and starring Jamie Foxx. Lisa has also been seen on television in Law & Order, Hope & Faith, Law & Order: Trial By Jury, The West Wing, Guiding Light, As The World Turns, All My Children, One Life To Live, Blues Clues, as well as live announcing the VH-1 Do Something Awards in Los Angeles. She performed with rock legends Joe Jackson and Todd Rundgren in the anniversary concert of UP AGAINST IT at Joe’s Pub, wrote and produced DATZ LIFE with her older brother, musician Mike Datz at Ars Nova in NYC, as well as numerous projects with legendary composer Maury Yeston, composer of the feature film, NINE. She has performed in many regional theater plays including the roles of Meg in CRIMES OF THE HEART (dir. Michael Unger), Julia in TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA (dir. Irene Lewis), Kari in THE PAVILION (dir. Stewart Schulman), Elizabeth in Ace at the Old Globe (dir. Stafford Arima), Empire (dir. Clayton Phillips), Heartland (dir. Susan H. Schulman) and Violet for which she received a Jeff Award nomination for the title role. She currently divides her time between New York and Los Angeles working as an actress in film, television, and theatre, as well as her work as a Hip Hop/Jazz dancer in concerts and videos, voice overs and screenwriting.
