His work combines close attention to language with visually driven staging and a particular interest in how an audience encounters a story. His career reflects a longstanding commitment to queer stories and to collaborating with writers whose work centers communities historically marginalized onstage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scott developed and directed the Off-Broadway premiere of Max Vernon\u2019s musical&nbsp;<em>The View UpStairs<\/em>. The production received three Drama Desk Award nominations and two Lucille Lortel Award nominations and earned Scott an AUDELCO\/Viv Award nomination for Best Director. His recent work includes the world premiere of Gina Femia\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Mercutio Loves Romeo Loves Juliet Loves<\/em>&nbsp;for Boomerang Theatre Company; Amy Crossman\u2019s&nbsp;<em>The Great Divide<\/em>&nbsp;at HERE Arts Center; and&nbsp;<em>The Laramie Project<\/em>&nbsp;at UC Davis, where he served as Granada Artist-in-Residence and Visiting Professor.&nbsp;<em>Mercutio Loves Romeo Loves Juliet Loves<\/em>&nbsp;received the 2026 Lambda Literary Award for LGBTQ+ Drama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other selected directing and development credits include Charles L. Mee\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Imperial Dreams<\/em>&nbsp;at Classic Stage Company; Briandaniel Oglesby\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Small Steps<\/em>&nbsp;at Portland Center Stage\u2019s JAW Festival; Shakespeare\u2019s&nbsp;<em>A Comedy of Errors<\/em>&nbsp;and Dan Marshall\u2019s&nbsp;<em>A Murder of Crows<\/em>&nbsp;with Boomerang Theatre Company; Jordan Seavey\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Children at Play<\/em>&nbsp;with CollaborationTown; Adam Szymkowicz\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Rare Birds<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Nerve<\/em>; and Alejandro Morales\u2019s&nbsp;<em>the silent concerto<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>the october crisis<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>marea<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>expat\/inferno<\/em>. His musical theatre work includes&nbsp;<em>The Peculiar Tale of the Prince of Bohemia and the Society of Desperate Victorians<\/em>&nbsp;at Goodspeed\u2019s Festival of New Musicals, Andrew Lippa\u2019s&nbsp;<em>The Wild Party<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>The Gifts of the Magi<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>Concrete Jungle<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scott is the Founding Artistic Director of Packawallop Productions and a former Artistic Associate at Classic Stage Company. He has worked in the literary department of Tectonic Theater Project and assisted directors Tina Landau, John Doyle, and Trip Cullman. He is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and an alumnus of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab.
