Weaving together Facebook DMs, recorded interviews, and anecdotes of growing up undocumented in New York City\u2019s Chinatown, Dear John is a coming of age story delightfully told by writer and performer Rachel Lin about the ways we try (and fail) to reach each other, over and over again<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bio:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rachel Lin is an actor, writer, and filmmaker born in the UK, raised between New York City&#8217;s Chinatowns. Critics have called her solo show, Dear John, &#8220;theatricality at its best&#8221; and &#8220;genuinely show-stopping.&#8221; She has received residencies and commissions for her writing from the Hearth, All For One Theater, Brooklyn Arts Council, the Museum of Chinese in America, and more. She is a 2025-2026 New York Theater Workshop 2050 Fellow. Her short film Great Listener (2022) screened at the Asian American International Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, Phoenix Film Festival, New York Shorts, and more. As an actor, world premieres include: Women by Chiara Atik (NY Times Critics&#8217; Pick), Mary-Kate Olsen is in Love, Ajax by A.R. Gurney (NY Times Critics&#8217; Pick), and others. She played Detective Victoria Cho on season 2 of Law &amp; Order: Organized Crime. Other TV: Black Cake, Pose, and Bull. She is a lifetime member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre.
