Jane Anderson is a writer and director for theater, film and television. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plays<\/span> include: The Quality of Life<\/em> (2008 Ovation Award, Best New Play), Looking for Normal<\/em> (2001 Ovation Award, Best New Play), The Baby Dance<\/em>,  Defying Gravity<\/em>, Food & Shelter<\/em>,  and The Escort<\/em> <\/span>(nominated for an LA Drama Critics Circle Award).  Her most recent play, Mother of the Maid<\/em>,  premiered at the Public Theater and starred Glenn Close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Works written and directed for film and television: Olive Kitteridge\u00a0<\/em>(Emmy Award for best teleplay and limited series;\u00a0Writers Guild Award for best teleplay; nominated for the Golden Globe for best limited series, The Prizewinner of Defiance Ohio<\/em>; Normal <\/em>(Emmy nominations for best writing, directing and best made-for-TV film, three Golden Globe nominations and Director\u2019s Guild and Writer\u2019s Guild nominations for best directing and writing); When Billie Beat Bobby<\/em>; The Baby Dance<\/em> (Peabody Award, a Golden Globe nomination and three Emmy nominations for best writing, directing and made-for-TV film); the first segment of If These Walls Could Talk II<\/em>, starring Vanessa Redgrave (Emmy nomination for best writing). She wrote The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom<\/em> for which she received an Emmy, a Penn Award and Writers Guild Award for best teleplay. Her other screenwriting credits include: How to Make An American Quilt <\/em>and It Could Happen to You<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
