{"id":9931,"date":"2016-02-29T16:07:13","date_gmt":"2016-02-29T16:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bretadamsltd.net\/content\/"},"modified":"2022-01-27T22:42:23","modified_gmt":"2022-01-27T22:42:23","slug":"stacey-luftig","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bretadamsltd.net\/content\/client\/lyricists\/stacey-luftig\/","title":{"rendered":"Stacey Luftig"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STACEY LUFTIG&nbsp;<em>(lyrics) <\/em>is a lyricist, librettist, playwright, and occasional television writer.&nbsp; She was awarded the prestigious Kleban Prize in 2016 and in 2015 shared the Fred Ebb Award for excellence in musical theatre songwriting with composer and songwriting partner Phillip Palmer.&nbsp; Their musical&nbsp;<em>My Heart Is the Drum<\/em> (bookwriter Jennie Redling) will have its world premiere in March of 2016 at Village Theatre (developed by NAMT, Goodspeed Writers Colony, BMI, and Kent State University).&nbsp;Stacey&#8217;s lyrics and monologue were featured Off Broadway and on tour in&nbsp;<em>That\u2019s Life<\/em> (Outer Critics Circle nomination).&nbsp;She wrote book\/lyrics for&nbsp;<em>Understood Betsy<\/em> (Jackie&nbsp;White Memorial National Children&#8217;s Playwriting Award, National Children&#8217;s Theatre Festival Award).&nbsp;<em>Story of an Hour,<\/em> her operetta, premiered with Portland Chamber Orchestra, and her play&nbsp;<em>Jinxed,<\/em> an O&#8217;Neill NPC Finalist, won first place and audience favorite at Dayton Playhouse FutureFest.
