Evy Ortiz

Hailed for her “crystalline high notes” and “pristine, clear, gorgeous vocals”, Ortiz has built a crossover career in concert work as well as in traditional musical theatre repertoire. She is best known for her portrayal of Maria in West Side Story, in which the Boston Globe reviewed her performance as “A genuinely captivating Maria who glows in every scene she’s in…It is the radiant Ortiz whose all or nothing urgency carries this West Side Story to its highest points.” She has toured throughout the USA as Maria in the National Broadway Tour of West Side Story and debuted that production in Canada and Japan. She also played the role in many regional productions including at the The Maltz Jupiter Theatre, The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts and the North Shore Music Theatre.
