Bo Frazier

BO FRAZIER (they/them) is a Jeff Award-nominated theatre director, deviser and producer currently based in Baltimore/NYC. As a transfemme, non-binary, queer and neurodivergent theatre maker, they’re interested in new work that tells traditionally excluded narratives in extremely imaginative ways.

Bo directed the sold out all-trans 2023 Chicago production of tick, tick…BOOM! (BoHo Theatre) featured in American Theatre Magazine, as well as Botticelli in the Fire (First Floor Theater) which gained 6 Jeff Award Nominations including Best Director and Best Production. In 2022, they were one of the 9 remaining staff members fighting for Victory Gardens Theater to stay alive. Favorite Directing & Choreography projects include: Hit the Wall by Ike Holter, Men on Boats by Jaclyn Backhaus, Love & Information by Caryl Churchill, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Simon Stephens, Bright Star the musical as well as Associate Directing the European Premiere of bare: a rock opera. Bo has directed/developed new work by Dillon Chitto, Jaime Jarrett, Dakota Parobek, C. Meaker, Leigh M Marshall, and KT Peterson.

Previously based in Chicago, NYC and London, they have worked with companies such as The National Theatre (UK), Birmingham Rep (UK), Greenwich Theatre (UK), NAMT, Signature Theatre (NYC), Dixon Place, Goodman Theatre, Rutgers University, Theatre167, Heartbeat Opera, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Theatre Cedar Rapids, Riverside Theatre and London Theatre Workshop (UK) which they co-founded. Bo started as a musical theatre performer, most notably appearing in the 2012 London Revival of Sondheim’s Assassins.
