Christyn Budzyna is an award-winning musical theater lyricist based in New York.
Musicals include: FROM THE MIXED-UP FILES OF MRS. BASIL E. FRANKWEILER, THE FOX SISTERS, THE PRINCE’S NEW PET, BOTS!, THE CLAW, and BAKED GOODS.
Hundreds of productions of her musicals have been performed around the world. Her work has been developed at the McCarter Theatre Center, New York Theatre Barn, JCC Manhattan, the 92Y Musical Theater Development Lab, and the South Carolina New Play Festival. Her poem, “The Lights Before Christmas,” was performed at the Bryant Park Christmas Tree Lighting Skate-tacular by Jane Krakowski and Alan Cumming.
Christyn was awarded the 2017 City Theatre National Award for Short Playwriting and she was the winner of the 2018 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival. She is an alumna of the Tony-honored BMI Musical Theatre Workshop.
